Frequently asked questions

How do I change my password?

Open the side menu → My profile → “Account” → “Change password”: enter the old one, then the new one (8 characters min., at least 1 digit). Forgot your password? On the sign-in screen, enter your email and tap “Forgot your password?”: you'll receive a 6-digit code to set a new one. This row only shows for accounts created with an email. If you signed up with Apple or Google, your account has no password: sign-in goes through Apple or Google directly.

How to delete my account?

Open the side menu → My profile → your account card → “Account” → “Delete my account”. You confirm by typing the requested word. This is permanent: account, sessions, cloud records and local data are erased (server backups are purged within 30 days). Note: this does not cancel your Pro subscription, which is managed on Apple's side.

Where is my data stored, and is it encrypted?

Your data lives locally on your iPhone and in a cloud backup, encrypted in transit (TLS), hosted in Europe (EU). Apple Health stays under Apple's control. We never sell anything and there's no advertising tracking.

Are my sessions saved offline?

Yes. Every session is saved locally on your iPhone (SwiftData), even offline: you can log a full workout with no connection. Cloud sync resumes automatically when the connection is back.

Do my data sync across iPhone, Watch, and multiple devices?

Between your iPhone and your Watch, everything goes live over the Apple Watch link during the session (the iPhone is the authority). Across several devices signed in to the same account, sync goes through the cloud: on first sign-in, your profile and history are pulled down, then each session is sent as you go.

How to activate Apple Watch?

Install “Basalt Lab” on your Watch from the Watch app on your iPhone (available apps tab). Your active program is then sent automatically, nothing to tap. You'll find the connection status under the side menu → Settings → General → “Apple Watch & Widgets”.

Can I start and log a workout from the Watch alone?

Not quite: your iPhone stays the brain. You start and log your sets from the Watch, but it has to stay within range of your iPhone and the app must not have been force-quit: it can perfectly well run in the background, the phone is what actually records. The Watch also measures your heart rate during the effort.

My Pro subscription isn't showing

Open the Pro card (menu → Basalt Lab Pro) and tap “Restore” at the bottom: Basalt rechecks your purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with. If nothing is found, you'll see “No previous purchase found on this Apple account”.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Management happens on Apple's side, not in the app: iOS Settings → your name (Apple ID) at the top → Subscriptions → Basalt Lab Pro. From there you can switch plans or cancel anytime.

How do I restore my purchases on a new device?

Sign back in to your Basalt account on the new device: your subscription is usually found automatically. Otherwise, open the Pro card → “Restore”, while signed in with the same App Store Apple ID you bought with.
